The synonyms of undevelopment include underdevelopment, stagnation, backwardness, impoverishment, regression, and decline. These words describe a condition of low economic growth, limited technological development, poor living standards, and inadequate social services. Underdevelopment suggests a condition that has not reached full development potential while stagnation implies little or no movement towards progress.
