This condition can be quite painful, and it may be mistaken for other conditions such as a heart attack or a pulmonary embolism. However, there are several synonyms that can be used to describe Tietze's Syndrome, including costochondritis, costosternal chondrodynia, and chondropathia tuberosa. Regardless of the name used, the condition usually responds well to treatment with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), which can help to reduce inflammation and provide relief from pain.
