A screen dump, also known as a screen capture, screenshot, or screen grab, is a digital image taken of a computer screen. The term "screen dump" is commonly used in older computer systems, but has been largely replaced by the more modern and widely recognized "screenshot". Another synonym for screen dump is "print screen", which refers to an older method of capturing the screen by using the "Print Screen" key on a keyboard. Other less common synonyms include "screen scrape" and "screen snap". Regardless of the term used, all refer to the process of capturing an image of a computer screen for various purposes such as sharing information or troubleshooting issues.
