The vast majority of our music and audio content is now available in digital format, which allows us to store, share and access it much more easily than ever before. There are many synonymous terms for digital recordings like digital sound files, computerized recordings, digital audio documents, digital audio files, digital sound records, digital audio captures, digital soundfiles, and so on. All of these terms refer to the same kind of audio content and can be used interchangeably. As technology advances, new terms for digital audio recordings are likely to emerge, but the core concept of easy-to-access high-quality sound content is unlikely to change.
